Have been doing work on the bike and in doing so had to re-route the breather pipes for the fuel tank, so looking up to where the breather hoses come down i saw this grey connector that i cant see a mating component. Any ideas what this is for and is it supposed to be disconnected? If it is i will bag and tape it up.

Could it be the secondary air injection or California emission thing??

Yes it is and it’s obviously redundant on our bikes, don’t worry about it, tape it up if you want but it’s fine as it is.
