Hello all my names Dave from Winsford in Cheshire.

I've been lurking on and off for a few months now and finally decided to join you all.
    Thanks for having me:)

I'm a old gentleman aged 65 who's been riding on the road since my 16th birthday, 4th August 1966 and not been without a bike of some sort since.
I remember the day well, I'd bought a Tiger Cub a few weeks before my 16th birthday and on that day my insurance started at 08.00am.
It was 07.50am and I was already sitting on the bike with the engine running at the front gate watching the hands on my wrist watch slowly creep round towards 08.00am.
It got to 07.55 and that was it I couldn't wait any longer,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, I was off and up the road on an adventure that is still going to this day:).

I've toured Europe a bit and love my road racing,I've got 3 trips booked to the IOM this year.
The end of May is to the Southern100 pre TT classic, July the Southern100 International (marshaling at both events) and the August Classic TT.
I live only a few miles from Oulton Park and can stand in my back garden and hear the action, so during the week if there's a trackday on i sometimes go over.
    It's great being retired:p

My present bikes are 2013 Triumph Tiger 800XC, 1984 Honda CB700 and couple of little aircooled 2 strokes a Yamaha RD 250'D' and a RD 400'E'.

    Regards Tiglet.

5 weeks and 4 days older than me (if I got me sums right - no guarantee!)!!

Welcome in, Tiglet! You make me feel young again.

Yes there are some more 'mature' correspondents within this site, though you'd never believe it with some of the comments herein!! Perhaps one's wit gets sharper with age and experience:) whilst one's short term memory fades at a similar rate:(!

Do not get me going on that !!!!!!! I'm always automatically wrong unless it's so obvious she is, as to be embarrassing for her.

    Thanks Sceptic.

I'm not growing old gracefully cos the wife said yesterday that 60 is the new 40.
I think that's what she said, then again with my memory it could have been the postman:rolleyes:

I look at it this way. My age will equal my shoe size in September when I get to 62, (6+2 = 8)

Hi Tigcraft, thanks for the welcome. Hey we could be cousins with names like Tigcraft and Tiglet ;)

CB700,,,,,,,,, P1010298.JPG No mistake mate it's a inline across the frame 4 pot with shaft drive and imported from the good old USofA.
The motor is basically a sleeved version of the CB750. The reason being that in the early '80s bikes imported into the states with a capacity of over 700cc were subject to heavy import duty making them very expensive to buy, this was done to help the flagging sales of new bikes made in the USA.
