Ive got a pair of US spec slip ons from a mate. He has taken the baffles out and I’ve got those but he’s not kept the circlips. Does anyone know are these a part that can be obtained, a copy sourced or something similar. Thanks folks
Circlips are quite flexible , so finding one that fits should be simple, but it probably will take a bit of research . the two measurement's you need to pay most attention to are the thickness and the outside diameter. Otherwise it won't slip into the slot/groove where it should lock !
Thanks for your reply. I did a bit of research on eBay and there are circlips without the “eyes” in them called snap clips. I’m just trying to figure out how to measure the diameter I need. I’ve got the width by trying different width washers in the gap. I’ll get there
Failing which you might consider a bead of high temp silicone suitable for gas flues....... https://www.sealantsandtoolsdirect....MI6eLM_KSJ4AIV5b3tCh1UlQUrEAQYBSABEgJp_fD_BwE
I’ve got my circlips in the garage. I’ll dig them out tomorrow and measure for you.mine are Thruxton 1200. This is the baffle does it look the same?
That looks right Glyn. My mate says they were just ordinary type circlips but had a blob of weld so he knackered them getting them out then lost them !
Ashtons99 Well if you do try Vance and Hines I wish you more luck than I had. I had my wide glide and oxford Harley tried for a year to try and get me a replacement hanger as mine was cracked. Eventually they said after a year they didn't sell parts just complete systems. Hence the reason I would never use them for anything I own. Ride Safe Joe.
Glyn. It seems that circlips are measured from outside of one side to inside of other. Any chance you can get verniers out again. Could you also measure thickness just to be on safe side. Sorry to be a pain
Thanks Glyn. I can find it on there but can’t find that measuring system on eBay circlips. They all seem to be measured as my previous post. If you get 5 mins some time. Thanks again
