Understanding (decoding) Triumph Vin

Is there a reliable place to decode my bike's VIN? I'm looking for the manufacture year (or date, ideally), as I'm trying to resolve a debate with a mate about how long my bike could have been in the showroom before I eventually bought it.

My VIN is SMTTNB1SC7G716146, which seems to imply manufacture was in 2007 ... but this is a Thunderbird Commander, which wasn't released until (I think) 2014.

What gives?

 

not sure what gives you a date of 2007 but G7 is 2012, though this is for the usa and might not apply
