My Daytona 955i road bike needs some new rubber and looking at tyre options has me a tad confused What's everybody else running?
When I had my '02 Daytona 955i CE I ran an Avon Viper on the front with an Avon Storm ST on the back - can't remember if that combination was recommended by Avon themselves or by the mechanic who fettled both the Daytona and my Trident - but it worked very well. Good grip and wear with no sign of a chicken strip anywhere on the rear tyre. Not too expensive either!
TBH you'd struggle to find a bad tyre now. Even the current sport touring tyres will run to the edge without issues. I've always been a Dunlop man but am currently on my second set of Michelin Pilot Powers because they grip well enough, last pretty well and are cheap.
Oh deep joy! Another inhabitant of God's Own Country with short arms and deep pockets. Nowt wrong wi' that!!
