Apologies if this questions has been asked before, but I’m new to the forum and couldn’t find a thread.

I’ve not long bought an Explorer which has panniers with it. How waterproof are they? I’m planning a wee trip at the end of August and would like some advice on if I need to buy liners.

    Cheers in advance.

Which panniers are they? The ally ones or the old plastic ones? I have the old plastic ones on my tiger and water does get in, they are finite old and battered. If your worried get some waterproof inners or use bin liners

    Thanks for this.

It’s not the ally ones, so will have a look about to get waterproof liners.

    Cheers.

Pity - the ally ones are 100% waterproof (two GMU trips as proof!)
