Does anyone know whether the head bolts on a ‘97 T595 would be Torx OR Torx Plus? Also, for anyone reading this...if you have any insights into removing a stripped Torx head bolt, I’d love to hear about it on a thread I’ve just started in ‘Technical.’ Many thanks in advance for any contributions.
Any thoughts at all on the subject of Torx and Torx Plus? I understand that Torx Plus is used especially in high torque applications, which makes me wonder whether they’re used for head bolts? My brand new T50 bit felt sloppy in the head bolts...I know they were used and it simply may have been just that but, equally, it may well be that the bolts were meant to receive the beefier T50 Torx Plus? Any thoughts, or where I might find out?
Just for completion, and in case anyone else finds this post in the future, I can confirm the head bolts are NOT Torx Plus. I bought a piece to try...it is altogether a different beast indeed!
It’s a slightly chunkier version of the standard Torx as best as I can explain it...same sizes though. Here’s a couple of pictures for clarification.
