Hello all I need a shopping list of tools, I will basically need everything. please can I have suggestions? thanks
You will need a selection of UNF spanners and sockets for the fasteners, you will at some point require a clutch tool, a lot depends on what you intend doing, are you removing the top end only, or an engine out and full rebuild, if a full rebuild you will need some additional tools, also quality screwdrivers are a must for those cross head screws, and an impact driver is always useful, these can be had at a reasonable cost, you can go the allen screw way to replace the cross head screws, depends what you prefer. I mentioned LP Williams of Claughton previously (Les sold his business to the current owner, having retired to his farm in Wales), these guys know their Tridents, and race them, look on the website. I only live a few miles away from the shop, and can recommend them, having purchased parts from them. Also Norman Hyde is a fantastic source for parts and advice. These people only sell high quality products, don't get tempted to buy cheap it will end costing you more time and money. Ride safe all from an ageing Rocker.
thanks for the reply. Very useful. I'm going to be going really slow, so first of is clean tank and check the bore. I've just about got enough to start that. fingers crossed it doesn't need a rebuild.
