Once warm my Bonny [2003 Hinckley] ticks over on 1000 or just under, this about right? Seems a tad low but I've been use to 2-strokes which rev a little higher so maybe i'm concerning myself over nothing?
Hi Tone, the tickover speed set by the factory and Triumph dealerships requires a diagnostic kit connection - they do not use the bike's tachometer. So to do the set-up correctly you need to download TuneECU, connect it to the bike and then setup up the tickover to 1050 revs + or - 50rpm. The dealers often say the bike tacho under-reads by approx 50rpm.
Forgive me I was talking bollox, there's no ECU on your bike Just turn the tickover speed(knurled black knob low down on LHS) until the tacho shows 1100rpm on a warmed-up engine.
