Neat little video with some Good slomo.
Shame both are beyond my budget...

I think thats a fair appraisal. I'd be very happy with either of those in my garage.

I looked very hard at the B*W R9T and the RS before I bought the Tiger Sport, followed by the Thruxton R. IMO the R9T is a great bike and there are a few on the forum that have purchased them. But for me it wasn't a triumph lol

I’d heard that they’ve stopped making the BMW Racer for 2020. The riding position for most was too radical, strange they say in the video very similar to the Thruxton. Good news is they’re relatively cheap second hand.

Sincere apologies to all forum members but on 3 March I will no longer own my 1200 Explorer having part-ex it for a R9T. Took one out last week and loved it. Getting the 719 blue and red paint job version. I had to do it ....honest. All is not lost though it will sit next to the Thruxton R. Lovely garage and there is a T140V keeping a parental eye on them both should they squabble.

    Hi dav.a,

Lovely bikes you have there. A couple of questions if I may? Was the R9T a similar price to the Thornton R and have you been polishing the wheel rims on the Thruxton :p?

    All the best,

    Ian

Not sure about price- the Thruxton was second hand a few years ago. The wheels are stainless steel but tubeless from Doug Richardson - Devon Wheel Building. He used the original hubs but everything else is stainless. I'm delighted with them. Cost just.over 1200.

I bought my r nine t last year off a mate with the intention of selling it on for a quick profit. I've still got it and although I didn't ride it much at all through winter (and can't now!) every time I rode it I liked it more!
The riding position is very aggressive though - bars are lower and further forward than the Thruxton, so I had to do a bar conversion to make it bearable!
