Hi everyone I have just bought a 2014 model Thruxton which I absolutely love but I think I'd prefer a more upright riding position. Can anyone advise me on where I could buy some upright bars and that would ideally just fix straight on without any mods? I think Norman Hyde might have something but thought I'd check here as well....
Hi Thruxnewbie, You can easily raise the bars by turning them round, flipping them over, so the left side becomes the right. When I picked up mine it was in that style and was very comfortable. Turning them back was the first thing I did and it only took 15 mins. Beware though, when you put the throttle grip back on you dont put it hard up against the brake clamp which prevents the twist grip returning freely, I did this and spent a long time looking to see where the cable was jamming!!:redface: Welcome in by the way
Don't know mate! Are the bars the same and do the T100 have the same bar risers that the thruxton does? wouldn't think it would be an issue to get them if not. Give it a go, its a 30 min job at most. Don't forget you have to flip them as well. so not just upside down but what was the right side now becomes the left.
Right I'll have a go. Just not today eh? It's about -5°C here with very fresh wind so I think it's more of a job for tomorrow afternoon - projected 10°C !!!!
Well as youre taking the bars off it will then fit through the front door and you can do it in the lounge while drinking tea on the sofa! Though from some pics I've seen the bars look higher than the thruxton bars so you might have problems. It might mean getting different bars, something like the Norman Hyde M bars?
Well I think I'll have a look and see if it is possible to use the existing bars - I come from Yorkshire after all
