I heard on the news that John Terry's house was burgled whilst he was away on an exotic swish holiday. Amongst the many hundreds of thousand of pounds of trinkets that were looted was one of his wife's many handbags worth £42,000. This cost of this one item alone would take John nearly a day to earn so I was thinking it would be a nice gesture if we all could all find it within ourselves to dig deep into our pockets to help the family in this desperate time. If we could rally around to get 42,000 member to pop just a single pound coin into a kitty then as a gesture of tremendous humanity buy his poor wife a replacement handbag I think we would all sleep better at night knowing that we have gone some way to restoring some happiness into their lives. I'm welling up just typing this thinking of the collective good we could do for them in their time of need.
Yeah, unfortunately bonzo, it doesn't matter how rich or poor you are if you've ever been burgled it's very unpleasant and can be quite traumatic to have a stranger defile the sanctity of your family home. So the press latched on to this one item. something cheap that was personally valued highly due to it being handed down through the generations wouldn't quite have the same impact as we would have all related to that!
Chelsea/England footballer, actually come to think of it families a bit pikey, owns one of those tasteless purpose built footballers houses in Oxshott Surrey. Don't get me wrong @Bonzo if someone has to get burgled I'd prefer it to be someone that can replace most things without batting an eyelid but having gone through it myself the night after my twins were born I have some sympathy for all victims!
Having been burgled 3 times in 35 years of house ownership, I can vouch that it is not a pleasant experience. Children's money boxes emptied, sentimental family items, music collections, etc. etc. plus all the associated hassle of the claims and the fact that some low life scum bags have rifled your property while you have been out grafting. I know where Bonzo is coming from though, the thought of that type of wealth probably accumulated through nothing else than playing football does seem a little unfair. Probably needs to spend some of it on better security! I've found a good guard dog or dogs is the best solution, beats all the alarms that nobody listens to anymore.
That has just reminded me of a mate who had two Staffordshire Bull Terriers. They were safely contained in his back garden with high quality fencing when an alarm system sales rep came calling and attempted to open the gate. Load of snarling and barking my mate went to investigate and found the white faced rep shaking in his plastic shoes and unable to explain what he had come for, he just passed my mate a leaflet and quickly left.
Didn't mean to make light of the personal & emotional after effects of being burgled - I've had a couple of cars nicked but never had the house done over (I've probably unwitttingly indtroduced a wave of bad karma that will result in me being the turfed over very soon - though if they broke in & saw what's in my house, they'd probably leave me a few quid until I got back on my feet ;-) ) Nah, was just poking fun at paying £42K for a handbag and then getting it lifted. #overpaidcocks
Pikeys, convicted drug pushers (dad), convicted shoplifters (mum and aunt), convicted anti-social racist $h1tb@g (John Terry his-self), which goes someway to explaining why he is known in football circles as plain-old John Terry (not going to get even an MBE, unlike, say, other unsavoury characters like the thuggish Stevie 'MBE' Gerrard).
£42,000 is more than I earn a year... I would happily baby sit his house with my dog for a week whilst he's on holiday for that money. Just saying...
She sets her self apart with that bag, shes not paying for quality, shes paying for exclusivity. Its a badge No moving parts. Nothing to warrant that price, except the ability to set her self apart ,be different To freeze people out. She shouldn't be burgled, cos people shouldn't do that. Shes not getting my sympathy, Ill keep that for the unfrozen.
I've answered that with the funny mojo, because I reckon you're a pretty contented sort of guy. Close family cannot be bought,
To my mind anyone who spends that kind of money on a handbag is a prize knob because :- 1. They have been mugged. (since the cost to make will be peanuts unless it's full of jewels) 2. They don't know the value of money. 3. The money could have fed and clothed a lot of destitute kids or provided life saving drugs. 4. The money could have bought me one of the new Street Triples. It's just a shame that the proceeds of the crime will go to other tw4ts.
