Anyone had this happen to their tach? I've recently had the tank off to delete the O2 sensors and the air injection. I suppose I've done something to it then but the wiring all looks good - nothing was pinched or anything. Grateful for any experience shared. 2009 Speedmaster EFI
Just an idea..... On a Yamaha I had, the tacho was a fault code reader. I can't remember if it was 4k or 7k without engine running but it indicated I hadn't connected the fuel gauge plug.
No, I don't think so. This ECU isn't that advanced. When there is a fault it just shows a check engine light on the speedo and one has to hook-up with TuneECU or similar to read the code(s) and copy or delete them.
Try the standard reset function by starting the engine from stone cold with NO THROTTLE! Do not touch the throttle at all! Let the engine warm up for 12 - 15 minutes then turn off. Repeat twice more, once fully cold i.e. later or next day. I think it's x3 cycles maybe someone else could confirm?
