Has anyone had any issues with the silencer wearing away the brake calliper !!! I had my pipes off to fit a x pipe ( de cat ) I noticed my silencer had been chewing away at the calliper not ideal . There’s no clearance or adjustment that I could see to stop this happening . My T120 is just shy of two years old so is going back to the dealer Thursday for investigation just wondered if this was a one off ?
I'm just taking a WAG at this one. If the bike has had any service where the silencer was removed, the tech may have forgotten to put a washer on a bolt and reduced the clearance by that amount. A quick way to check is to look at one of the online catalogs for Triumph OEM parts and compare it to what you found on your bike. I'm not sure how your rear wheel adjustment works, but another possibility is that the rear wheel isn't straight/true to the bike and it's cocked. That might explain why it is just at one end of the caliper. Good luck chasing this demon.
More than likely the "Stealer" will blame the non-Triumph work done (Xcat). Worth a try though, agree with the above, looks like a spacer/washer has been omitted! Worse case scenario, repair and spray up with a tough black paint
Im off to the dealer Thursday so will take a look at the bikes there the silencer will only go one side of the bracket as it’s connected by the rear foot peg the silencer is formed to miss the the rear wheel arms but not enough to clear the caliper on my bike I’ll re post after Thursday but thanks for replying I think I think your spot on with the wheel alignment I’ve just got home and checked the adjusters and they’re about 4mm difference in thread length I’ve not had to adjust the chain tension since having the bike and had it serviced by the main dealer so could be an interesting conversation Thursday when I take the bike in thanks for the advice
