Noticed a continuous buzzing noise coming from the injectors yesterday upon turning on the ignition and prior to starting the bike. Sounds like an electric motor but its 'cycling' as though hunting for a stable condition, if you know what I mean. I hadn't heard this before (bike was new last August) so as I was just about to embark on a 150 ride to Yorkshire I phoned the dealer. Their service department assured me this was normal and is part of the fly-by-wire control system. The trip there and back went ok so presumably nothing to worry about, but just checking in here to see if anyone else's new T120 makes this noise, and I've just been deaf to it until now. Thanks
Hi Pasher, the noise you're hearing is more likely to be the in-tank fuel pump, which primes in the ignition switch pos. II.
Not sure - There are clicks and buzzes from fuel pump when turning on the ignition, but these stop after a couple of seconds. This is a quiet but continuous motor noise and its definately coming from the injector block.
It's the pump pressurising the system whilst the ignition is on, flick the kill switch on and it'll stop if you want to adjust the clock for time of day, my sons ZXR10 does the same thing.
Yea mine sounds the same, i figured its the fuel pump or something to do with the fuel injection system. Its not noisy or anything, i dont tend to hear it until i listen for it, if that makes sense.....
