In order to sync my carbs (1995 Thunderbird 900) I must remove the fuel tank. Any ideas for what I can use as a temporary fuel source. Something nice an simple would appeal .
Hi Craig, you can use the fuel tank itself if when you take it off, you place it on a table or similar assuming the pipe is long enough. If not, cut the bottom off a plastic pop bottle, rig up a pipe between it and the carbs and have the bottle as high as you can make it, above the bike.
Have a look at this, it's a bit pricey but made for the job: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Sealey-Mo...318383?hash=item2c911030af:g:oWgAAOSwWTRW1MWD
I bought one of these for doing throttle bodies on my FJR but bike wouldn't turn over with wiring to tank disconnected. I wouldn't imagine it would be a problem on a bike with carbs.
