Hi - have a bit of an oil weep on Street Twin 900 (2018 model). It is on the near side of the bike in the area behind the clutch cable adjustment clamp on the lower side cover. The oil is weeping out of what appears to be a blanking plug, perhaps the plug is to blank off a hole required for the manufacturing process of the crankcase. I have attached a photo of the “plug” which has a 8 mm Allen socket head. I have tried to turn this, initially trying to loosen it to gauge how tight the plug is and found it to be extremely tight. I’m being ultra cautious in case I were to strip the crankcase thread. If it had been loose, I would have attempted to nip it up as an interim measure and then next time I change the oil, I would remove the plug and put thread seal on it and reinsert. Just wondering if anyone has had similar issue and how they went about curing it. Thanks
Hello, I just posted about the exact same issue with the exact same plug. Mine is a 2021 Street Twin though. Hoping one of us can get an answer.
May I know U guys able to solve the leak? I have exactly the same issue. My bike 2022 street scrambler900
@YC Ong Nice choice of bike. How i used to seal the drain plugs and sealing plugs on my old T140'S was to take the plugs out and lightly smear the threads with plain old silicon sealant just enough to seal the threads and not to get into the engine or oil wells. Always worked for me.
