Could be reg/rec, could be stator, could even be both!! What bike is it? My 2002 Daytona 955i blew both!! Then it blew the replacement reg/rec! Check the main fuse is ok as mine kept blowing before the 2nd reg/rec died. When running the voltage across the battery terminals should be in the region of 14.5 volts if it is charging corectly.

    HI

am new to this forum. i drive a t 100 done about 5000 km. but faced a strange problem. i started the bike after 7 days it started perfectly and went for a ride of about 300 kms no problem at all. in the evening the bike will not start . the headlight fully on / indicator light on and the horn was sounding normal so could not be a battery problem.

Had to start it by pushing it. + on my way back i drove about 100 kms and tried starting the bike it will not start and had to push it , however after another 100 kms (i take a halt every 100 kms) it started without pushing + after another 100 kms once i reached home, it would not start again the next day.

i guess a 300 kms run should be enoght to re charge the batter. (battery by the way is brand new)

    any suggestions ?
