Born in Paisley, nr Glasgow then moved to Sheffield as a boy. Was out near Halfway, Mosborough, then at Sheffield Hallam Uni, living in the high flats back of the train station (demolished now), then out at Clowne, Worksop way. Sheffield was a good place to grow up, used to ride the buses all day Saturday a 2p a trip. Used to go all over, just jump the first bus out of Pond street, then ride it till they chucked you off, then catch one back later. Spent loads of time up Fox House, etc. Then being a Student in Sheffield is great, was the best student City in England. Plus all the trainee nurses from the hospital
