Speedmaster side stand

Has anyone had this problem ,when leaning on the left side round a bend the sidestand hits the road ,i'm going to try and bend it but woundered if it is a known problem.

 

I scrape my footboards quite a lot but havent managed to scrape my side stand. Having said that i tend to get lower on right handers?

 

looks like the stanh could be bent upwards by about an inch as the foot lever seems very straight
