I think I put my article in the the wrong place, anyway here's a question: Is there a 3.5 gall tank out there for a Speedmaster 1200, 2023 as I am fed up with filling it up every 5 minutes?
They did update the Bobber tank (9l/2.37usg) to the Speedmaster for that reason. Is 10% a big difference? There is a custom stainless 4.4gallon https://www.britishlegends.fr/en/large-tank-bobber.html?id=214089824 https://broscustomparts.com/products/triumph-bonneville-bobber-petrol-tank-bigger-bobber
I've been doing 500 to 700 mile runs on mine since I bought it in Spring of 22. Compared to my last bike XJR1300, it certainly needs filling up more often. A bit like some of my previous Harleys. ..but having said that I ride with the fuel consumption meter on the dash, so probably spend a lot less than I would have, I don't mind topping up every 100 miles or so (just to be safe most time it will cover me for about 150 miles), as that coincides with motorway boredom, the need to pee, the need to stretch, take off (too hot) or put on waterproofs (don't like the look of those clouds), or the need to drink/eat. We used to do some cross peninsular runs on the Harleys where there weren't any petrol stations. A couple of pickups in the group with fuel tanks and some water in coolers helped tremendously. I now carry a 2 lt pony just in case. I had a sphincter moment in the Highlands not too long ago, just reached a petrol station at closing time, on fumes, and it was raining... and that was on the XJR..
