So I managed to get over and pick the new bike up today and I've spent the last hour sticking the tank protectors on, figuring out where to thread the chain through the swingarm for the ground anchor and wiping down and sealing the paintwork.

I have to say, now that it's home and I've managed to give it a proper look over, the build and quality of the components are lovely, I'm really impressed. I wasn't originally convinced by the Speed when I compared it to the Street, but you can see where the extra cash has gone. It feels more substantial and grounded, where the Street felt really light and bit flighty. Both are really enjoyable to ride, but as someone who's owned quite a few Blades the grunt from the 1050 triple is ace.

Congrats mate. I must say the white is the better choice for sure. Yes the build quality is top notch. I owned a 675 street and have ridden the new 765. When I set out to upgrade the 675 I thought that maybe the 765 might be the way to go. I found that it wasn’t much different than the 675. I wanted a much more torquey bike and a more planted bike as well. The speedy is perfect imo. Enjoy!

A lovely looking bike, my friend. The white is certainly the best looker imo. Concur with you on the quality, probably one of the best built and best finished bikes I have owned. Enjoy it :)

@joe mc donald it was so cold after hanging around chatting and taking pics of the Daytona I literally rode the 10 miles home and got it into the garage. The next hour was spent warming up and tarting up (the bike that is).;)

Having ridden Blades for almost 20 years I missed the grunt of a litre bike. The Street was a quality bit of kit, but the Speed feels so much more.

I'm hoping to get some time again over the next couple of days to get past the 100 miles mark.

Yes it is coming mate and the roads are almost empty so its worth the wait. For now just keep the steed shiny and tart yourself up all you want.
    Regards
    Joe.

Great great looking bike, I have a 2018 Speed RS - you will not be disappointed and that was me changing from a GSXR 750 to the RS, same horsepower but the grunt of the Triumph is way more. Enjoy your new bike:)
