Last week I had some business duties in the Tyrol. On the weekend I used my trip home for a short ride to Berchtesgaden in Germany. It is a wonderful small town in an alpine area. The streets in this area are made for bikers! One curve follows the other. Behind each curve you can experience a new part of the beautiful landscape. Of course I have also tested the local food offers. In the following some impressions and unexpected findings. My Honda NT-1100. I rode 18.000 km in the last 9 months with it. In the background you can see a mountain called "Watzmann". A great banana -strawberry-kiwi-ice coup. "An espresso (or more!) a day keeps the doctor away" This is a "downgraded" former Fiat500. In this configuration young people at the age of 16 are allowed to ride alone on the streets. One of the last Cabrio-Trabbi in a great condition.
Nice pics... That Fiat looks dodgy. Like Reliant Robin in reverse. Have you seen the Trabant museum in Berlin? I checked out Berchtesgaden. Looks nice, I think I drove past it in a few years ago on the way back from Italy. Next time I should stop off and check it out.
Been to Berchtesgaden loads of times, it is as you said, The streets in this area are made for bikers! One curve follows the other. Behind each curve you can experience a new part of the beautiful landscape. Thanks for posting these pictures @Markus
@MoreT: Thanks! I have been to Berlin in the past. Due to the great amount of sightseeing possibilities there I missed the Trabant museum. But next time I will try to visit it!
@Bikerman: It was great there. In two weeks I'm in the city of Salzburg for some business duties. On the weekend my wife will come to join me with her bike. We are planning to ride a three hours tour in the area of Berchtesgaden together. From Salzburg it is only a half an hour ride to Berchtesgaden. Half the time of my ride on the last weekend from Tyrol.
Please don't think for one minute I'm jealous. I'm not honest, oh bugger it, yes I am. Ride safe have a successful business trip, then out for some brilliant riding. Jealous not one bit.
