My brother has no electric to garage and has asked me if a solar panel charger is ok to connect to battery and leave for long periods. Bearing in mind he has an alarm fitted on bike.

Personally I would be taking the battery home. This way the battery could be permanently connected to a battery conditioner/optimiser and would be shielded from the effects of a cold winter.

After all, how long does it take to re-install a battery?

Theres an alarm fitted which wont be much use if the battery is removed every time its left in the garage.
