I’ve snapped the retainer pin on my street twin side stand ,a friend of mine he could sort it no problem and has snapped 2 drill bits and a easy out so I think my only option is to get it welded in place as I have no mechanical experience will this be strong enough fix Thanks

You still have options, you could burn it out, cut it out, or weld a bolt to it and extract it that way.
    Pics would help.

Left handed drill bits are a great help extracting broken stuff. Easy outs tend to be brittle, and have never had much luck with them. The heat and vibration of the left handed drill bits tend to work in your favor. Requires a reversable drill which is pretty common nowadays.

Just took a photo not the best ,looks like he has drilled most of it out so trying to get the remainder out looks a bit of a nightmare that’s why I was wondering if welding the pin on would be strong enough
