Just wondered what your dealer is charging you? Had a 6000 miles service done at Pidcocks Nottingham Total with VAT £273.08 Hourly rate charged £62.50/ Hour Labour + Vat took 2.5 hours Parts were £71 + Vat Personaly I think the hourly rate is expensive but I am happy with the work they have done and checks completed. bike is a Speed Triple 1050 abs 2012.
I used to pay about £150 for a 6,000 mile service and about £400 for a 12. However, the fucking thing ran out of oil and seized 3,000 miles after a service from them! (And they're quite high up on the JD Power thing). Go figure!
Mmm I'm not convinced by them Bry, I asked the girl now running the service counter there how much more the 12000 mile service was going to be and she said about the same as the 6000; thought the 12000 was a big un??? Perhaps the high hourly rate there is to pay for all the staff there; loads more since they moved and plenty on a Monday with time on their hands.
Was going the get the Speedmaster serviced but when I asked my stealership it was going to be about £300 ish so did it my self loads cheaper just the basics air, oil filters ect ,just take it there if I need any specialist jobs done
Got a service package deal from my dealer J.S Gedge in St Leonards, East Sussex. £250 for two years. I had one for my Tiger and got 3 services in 2 years so it worked out well. The 500 mile service is always free (I've heard some dealers charge) I had to pay for tyres but that was about all. Decent guys to deal with. They claim to be the oldest motorcycle shop in the UK and possibly the world having been in the same location since 1897.
Yes, I think it is but I think they work on the basis that many people never get to their 12000 mile service in the time period so it's only 2 small yearly services that get done. I did 17k in 2 years!
Weird double posts...... I used "post quick reply" and the posts are appearing before Richard's last post.. And I've just seen that Richard's post is in the future (8:51) and it's only 8:25 in this time continuum --- spooky......
Just had my 1st service at Bill Smiths in Chester charges £150 for service and £50 on top to fit heated grips supplied by me. Great service bike read when they said it would be, didn't charge anything extra for fitting the oil rad guard ( I didn't have small enough socket to undo bolts, honest! i asked about mapping in the Scorpion can i have on order from elsewhere, guy said they only charge £20 to map them in, so even though it appears you do not need it on Scorpion Serket for £20 better safe than sorry I say nice to know they are my local dealer and first experience very good
Don't map the exhaust.... My local dealer put the lowboy map on mine (didn't ask for it as it was fine) after I installed the GPR. It lost 5bhp from the standard map.. And my seat of the arse dyno confirmed that as well.. I was not worried as I was having it rolling roaded and tuned the day after... If you want to try my map I'm more than happy to download it and send it over... Standard engine, custom map & GPR exhaust...
1st service for mine today at Bill Smiths £47 including a 10% discount for being a RAT member, they even changed an indicator pod/housing thingy that I thought was cracked, turned out is was just scratched?? 10/10... shame I got wet on the way home tho:frown:
Most dealers are very cagey about displaying their servicing prices and even obtaining quotes from then often elicits vague meaningless responses. Its utterly intolerable... So its very refreshing to find this... Team Roberts | Motorcycle Servicing Sadly I'm nowhere near them!
