You will notice over a long ride. Are they worth it...the old model is a bit expensive because it's one single seat (about £250 if I remember) 2016 smaller seat (£130 I think) I would pay £130, not sure about £250.
Cheers bud.i used to be not to bad on a long trip but i had a rocket classic for 3yrs and its left me with a pain in the ass which seems to be hanging around even on me speedy.
My 2015 Speedy came with one as part of the free accessory deal. Can't really say it is more comfortable than the std one when I tried that for a day. The gel one does look a lot better though, but does get incredibly hot in the sun. If it had not been free, I would probably have been disappointed with it.
Yeah would agree with that Victor, if you go on a long ride get some padded cycling shorts... A lot cheaper
Hi, I used the standard seat for a few weeks on my 94r, then swapped it out for the gel seat. Massive difference imo. I had the seat from my previous s3, a 2011 model, and the difference to how my backside feels after a day long ride is worth the money to me. Others may not notice the difference as much, but I suppose that's possibly which bits of the glutes/upper leg/lower back are being affected. Worked for me. I think it's also worth adding that good quality cycling shorts can also make a noticeable improvement. ATB Bob
I think ill be going out and getting some cycling shortts 1st and then see about ghe seat. I got offered a gel seat for £90.seem about rite ?
For £90 if snap his hand off. Go on, get it bought. If it turns out it doesn't solve the problem, you can sell it for what you paid for it quite easily. It's zero risk pal. ATB Bob
Make sure it is a gel seat tho, I bought one, offered at around the same price, that was said to be gel and turned out to be the same as the one i already had but from a different manufacturer.

I bought a gel insert for my hyperstrada and fitted it myself, not too difficult to do, cheap, the bike looks standard and it has made an improvement. Cycle gel pants help too and even cheaper. I wore them touring Ireland and was in the saddle for 6 hours a day. Loads of youtube vids on how to fit your own gel pad.
