Eyup chaps, sorry to bother you all again. I went to get my seat off last neet, as I needed mi C spanner to tighten mi chain. When I turn the key to release the seat, it won't. Tried pushing seat down, lifting it and using force on t'seat and t'key, but to no avail. Anyone know how to get mi seat off, please? It's a 2011 ST3, in case you've forgot.
Hi I had the same problem with my tiger 955, I managed to free mine by gently rocking and sliding seat back and forward and sideways while turning the key at the same time, found brute force didn't seem to work on mine either lol. Added :- unless your cable has snapped, what I think is happening is the cable and spring is moving but the pin holding the seat down is trapped. I had replaced the pas seat must have misaligned it and "clicked" the seat down, struggled for ages trying to release the pin. You may if you can get to yours use a screwdriver and try and leaver the pin down.
