Anybody come across / used this ?

Think I might give it a go on the KTM. Bit of oil misting on the forks, not bad enough to fail MOT, but still there.

Yes, I made one out of a plastic milk carton and cleaned a weeping fork seal last year. Its been dry ever since. Top tip - remove the mudguard for better access and take all the weight off the forks with a headstock stand otherwise you lose more oil.

Got a moto-x stand so the forks are in the air. Thanks for the heads up.

As for making one up, my thoughts exactly, I can make one of this, not paying £5 for a bit of plastic :p

The tool did not appear to drag out much grit. Maybe just cycling the forks, wipe downs, once the dust caps are removed would do the same. Oil is expelled under pressure outward to clense the seals under compression.

I made one out of a plastic carton in about 5 mins, worked really well, loads of crud, but I still had to change the seals, left it too late!

For sure if the weep is caused by a damaged seal then cleaning won't help. My seals are relatively new so it must have been a particle of dirt and a great free fix.

A used plastic milk container cut down is great and use plenty of WD40 or other lubes :)

Agree with darkman, I made one the same way and it worked, I prefer standard forks to USD slap some gaiters on and standard have better protection, I think they have a neoprene cover for USD type forks

    Murphy's feckin Law

Just got the Tuono out to get mot'd this week and one of the fork stantions is wet :confounded:

Done the trick with a piece of milk bottle, so we'll see how it goes o_O If not, new fork seals required.

If the Tuono needs new seals at least you’ve now got plenty of time on your hands now Ron to do the repair.
