    Hi all,
Just wondering does any one put other oils in their scottoiler?
Iv always wondered whether oils such as chain saw oil or engine oil would work

Chainsaw oil should work as it's sticky so should cling to the chain.

Well I must ride more than you, and when on the road it's not always available. There's also lots of suggestions online that their oil is simply repackaged motor oil or something of the sort, with the price bumped up a lot.

To be honest, almost anything thin/thick enough to pump through the Scottoiler and is good for the chain will work. I've tried in a pinch and heard of many others simply using 30wt motor oil. A bit flingy but works.
