What's a lovely bike the R is. Test ride on Wednesday or Friday all being well. Very impressed in the flesh. Two minor points I'd change, the orange reflectors on the front forks need to come off, can that be done ok? Also a tail tidy and removal of the mudguard I think would be on my list with some smaller indicators (clear) I've got the catalogue now of the triumph range, is there a specific catalogue for accessories or a website where you can view them? Very tempted now, I can see me on one no worries! Are there any dealers with stock in (silver grey) as my local one has sold out already.
Regards fender eliminates or tail tidys, I think people have seen how these bikes are selling and there will be loads of aftermarket parts coming on the market soon, I beleive r &g have some coming soon. Someone on a previous thread got the triumph one and made some adjustments, have a trawl. As regards anyone having silver ones in stock, I think you'd be lucky, could be worth calling around and putting your name down for a cancelled order, has been known to happen. Good luck
Yes I can see a thriving market for accessories here already. The local dealer had a brand new one in bits for the tail tidy to be fitted and the owner was having it custom painted over the silver.
My local triumph dealership have got it in matt black and it looks really good but nowhere as good as the silver (just my opinion of course). And I'm sure it would look ok in blue Crispey.
The fork reflectors just pull off, heating them a little with a hot air gun helps then 5 minutes rubbing the residue of the glue off. You can see the array of accesories on the triumph website, use the modern classic configurator to build a bike to your liking. You may be able to get your hands on an ex demo bike (I did) or your going to have to wait until September.
I've just bought a grey one from Laguna in Maidstone, they've got loads down there in all the colours, they say they're all sold but me thinks that's what they're told to say !! I'm only saying that because when I was looking 2 weeks ago I found 4 for sale. Speak to Liam. I had a phone call yesterday morning from Bridge in Exeter saying they had a grey one available next week, cancelled order. I would have preferred to have bought one locally but couldn't find one, doesn't really matter, mines being delivered next week
Matt black is cool but I think it's silver for me. Wasnt bothered by the red paint though. Anyone bought on pcp deal with triumph? I can probably pay cash if needed but they had a pcp deal with £2k deposit, 73 quid a month or similar and a guaranteed value of 8.6k in 3 years to pay or walk away. Basically works out about £4800 in total paid to "rent" it for 3 years then walk away.
i can see why pcp is popular as it does seem as if you are getting a good deal, and you can get the bike of your dreams without having to splash out a whole load of dosh, but personally if i don't have the cash to buy a bike i save up until i do as i hate the thought of borrowing/renting to get something i want. i think you will find the "guaranteed" value has conditions.. mileage, condition, current market values..if they think it is not worth 8.6k in 3 years i imagine you will have to pay the shortfall, also i don't think you can do any mods on it.. or if you do you will have to return it back to standard in 3 years.
Think with that sort of deposit it's about £120:00 month, you'll probably have to put down £4K to get it to £70 month. It's whatever suits your budget I suppose. The triumph website has a finance calculator....
If I can sell my 748SPS I'd have the full balance. Got time to sell by look due to lack of bikes locally lol
Just pull them off! That's what I did......got some funny looks in the showroom trying it before it was handed over to me formally but was the first thing I did when I parked up at home. Nasty things and if the ones on Buell XBs are anything to go by are great harbingers of crude and nasties that will, in extremes, cause the forks to corrode through (happened on Showas on XBs)
test ride tomorrow afternoon! lets see how they go, will be totally different to my ducati riding position!
Thanks, they seem ok at the mo' maybe I put them on a hot tank when they were cold or somert similar .I did a good rub with the alcohol cloth beforehand .
Yes mate, all bikes over 125cc have to have ABS fitted from 2016. Not sure about the reflectors - they weren't on the Tiger but I would have pulled them off anyway!
It's a legal requirement for all new bikes to have ABS nowadays I think Jez. Just checked with the Royal Enfield range of bikes and they make no mention of ABS so now I'm not so sure
