I am thinking of removing the SAI on my 2011 EFI, not for the reason of popping but have been lead to believe my engine will run a bit cooler therefore reducing exhaust bluing, I have a friend who works in a Triumph main dealer who says its good to remove the SAI because the vacuum operated valve that feeds them air quite often leaks making the bike run very lean which is not good. I think I'm correct in saying that there is really is no need to remove the whole system, only the ejector pipe next to the spark plugs, and fit blanks. If I am wrong please let me know before I start on this shortly after Christmas.
Also if my bike has a catalyser can anybody please tell me where it is please, I am waiting for a Haynes Manual to arrive but its taken for ages to arrive.
    Many Thanks

Are you trying to provoke one of us into coming down and ripping it out because it is starting to work?!

    Take the seat off.

Now remove the tank. Two bolts at the back of the tank. Disconnect fuel hoses. Ease the tank backwards off the front lugs and lift clear.

Time elapsed, maybe 3 mins ......

    Now install

    Or (various options)

The only bit that may frighten you is TuneECU to switch off the error light that wIll otherwise pop up. And that is pretty simple too. You just need the cable.

OK message received and understood. Hey, thank you for replying very much appreciated. I guess if I leave the pump only electrically connected the light will not come on.

That's what I did. Just blocked the two holes in the pump / module and everything works great. My bike is a 2010. And I don't have any popping even running Norman Hyde cans. Didn't even remove the tank the job was easy enough to do without all that. But the bike is sweet and really pleases me.
    Regards
    Joe.

I removed the whole system and programmed it out via tune ecu to stop the EML light coming on,you can leave the air valve in place the light will not come on,there are inexpensive kits on evilbay that will help the removal of it all without needing to plug it into a computer.
