I'm thinking about buying one of these: Ruroc | ATLAS 4.0 Ruby Carbon | Full Face Bluetooth Motorcycle Helmets They are currently throwing in their Harmon Kardon bluetooth setup foc. Has anyone got one? Your opinions would be appreciated.
It was delivered this morning, As I mentioned they are currently throwing in the Harmon Kardon bluetooth set up foc,. This was relatively easy to install and looks very neat as it integrates into a slot in the back of the helmet. (As usual Youtube videos are available to assist you with installation/operation etc). They also provide a clear visor and a tinted visor as part of the package. The helmet is rather tight to squeeze on, but once you have it properly on your head its a snug, but comfortable fit. Like most helmet liners, I guess it will ease with use over time, so I'd rather have it snug when new than a little loose. First impressions are very good, I don't have any of my bikes road legal at the moment, they are all snoozing in the garage and Sorned, but when I do get a day out to ride with the new helmet, I will report back with my on board impressions. So far so good.
An update on the Ruroc. I've been out with this helmet a few times now and I'm impressed with it. Being Carbon its very light and so at higher speeds on a naked bike like the STRS, it's not so much of a strain on my neck muscles. The chin strap mechanism is a doddle to use and the integral Bluetooth works well as both an intercom and for streaming music from your phone, if that's your thing. I still like my Shoei helmets, but compared to the Ruroc they do seem quite heavy and bulky. There is more wind noise, which my Shoei's tend to mask, but again at lower speeds, it isn't bad at all. The visor mounting system is quite simple and visors are easy to change. The padding inside the helmet is substantial and comfortable. Marks out of ten? Well a good 8.5 from me. The wind noise at higher speeds prevented it from getting a 9. As I asked earlier in the thread, has anyone else here got one? I would be interested in your views.
