    Hi

When idling rpm is unstable sometimes high some times way to low. During ride between gear switching, rpm never goes down or gotta wait long in order to. When stop on red light usually engine turns off due low rpm.

Is it general problem of air leakage ?, I noticed the rubbers between carbs and a head is pretty bad condition, cracks everywhere, so thinking to replace it. But do you think I have to look somewhere else yet ?

Sorry, not much experience with triumphs yet.

    Thank you

Yes the rubbers could be leakng , well worth changing , also check your diaphrams on the top of the carbs , my 900 T bird used to do the same (same year as yours) its fine now . Just to note, taking the carbs out is quite tight its worth changing the airfilter while your at it. Triumph want you to change the whole box which seems mad but you can buy a k&n filter to fit in the original box. If the brass screws in plastic ( not a great idea) start spinning, just drill them out and use self tappers . Best of luck .

Yes those intake runners are buggers at leakig when you get the bike running squirt round them one at a time use some WD 40 if bike picks up rpm then IRS pulling air in think they are about £8 plus post from world of triumph

I am not sure what is missing from your bike as I do not have this information and now carbs are off you cannot check air leaks from engine did you do wd40 test ??.

Hi Michal, is your bike originally a California model? If it is it will have had extra plumbing for the carbon filter canister etc which might account for some of the unplugged gubbins?

Another thing to look for, there should be a long drain pipe which hangs down below the front of seat and exits by the drive chain in front of rear tyre, it should be closed off with a bung, not open. On my Sprint it made a massive difference to both slow running and starting.

is this the manual you have already?? .

The expansion tank on cooling system should have a open overflow the other hose Might be a engine breather hose and on uk bikes goes to air filter air box but your market may recirculate crankcase air back to to carbs for engine to burn and switched by solenoids that are energized by a electronic module at certain intervals.(sorry cannot see this hose mentioned in your picture)

That looks like tank breather pipe comes from under tank down between them to floor

Think if you look on world of triumph you can zoom in on the parts to work out how things go
