More spam than actual posts when I looking in this morning. It's getting worse,

 

If it doesn’t improve I’m going to log out for a bit, give it time to get better. Getting fed up of it now

 

I have little understanding of this stuff, other than it seems entirely pointless, a bit like nuisance telephone calls.
Surely the originator knows that the messages will be completely ignored?
What the hell is it all about?

 

If the amount of spam starts putting people off the forum that's a real issue for everyone. Where the hell is Rob? I'm only on one other forum (for the MV). There's no spam that I can see and the curation of the forum is much more hands-on.

 

For what its worth i am a mod on a car forum and i have never had to deal with any spam just a couple of dickheads every now and then and no i am not volunteering. I don't understand why this site seems to attract so much of it.

 

I don't think the site attracts more spam than any others, it's just not getting filtered out properly. It's a cat-and-mouse game but are methods to do that. We don't know what's in place now but it clearly needs looking at. Only Rob has that capability as it's down the the Xenforo software config and add-ons. Upgrading it to a version that's actually supported would be a good start.

 

I haven’t had any response to my plea for help with my disappeared posts and PMs.

 

If you sent it just to Rob then you could be waiting indefinitely. I've sent one or two PMs in the past and never got a reply. Make sure you tag @Havit or send him a PM. He is around but whether he can help...

And the next one only has 3. What on earth is going on with this forum engine.
