Back to Sqaure 1... Work backwards seems 1 is a bit too tight...

 

I rebuilt one 2 litre Pinto engine from two engines many moons ago for my old Mk1 Escort. Had it bored out, high lift cam, polished & ported head, twin 40 webers the works. Fitted it & it wouldnt turn over.
Cut a long story short i had mixed the crank bearings caps from one engine with the other. But i didnt make that mistake again! Lol

 

While doing the shims I lost a torx 30 bit looked in sump magnet into engine rocked bike nothing. Yes folks found it on top of piston looks like its been trapped under a stem top lots of swear words later, now back on jd

 

Ouch! Thats could of been a very expensive error mate. Glad you got it sorted now though. :smile:

 

Dam... Glad you sorted it and found the problem.. As pig said that could have been a lot worse...

God man you were really lucky you didn't do far more damage, you could have smashed a valve, broken a conrod anything!

What does the head look like? much damage?

 

oh dear did you not realise it was in there

 

Had sump off and magnet down in to engine it also went over by hand I have two inlet & 2 exhaust vavles bent head needs regrind :frown: more jd called for
