How do you remove the upper chainguard on the 2016 model? Do you have to remove the rear mudguard first? I was a little too enthusiastic about lubricating the chain and now chain oil drips all over the garage floor after a ride. Was able to remove the plastic panel near the front sprocket and clean this but the chain guard bolts are inaccessible to an amateur.
As DD said above Or I think you will need to remove the wheel as I think the chainguard bolts are behind the swingarm. I am only guessing here. Confirm it before going down that route
You have to remove the rear wheel as there are 3 torx screws holding it on, one is easy and two req a short torx bit and spanner as the chain gets in the way.
