    Lo all.

My Fazer 1000 was getting too big and heavy after over 5 years ownership - longest I've owned a bike, just beating my Tiger 900 from 2000 - and I needed something lighter, slower and fun.

I went to try a Street Scrambler over a month ago, but was distracted by the shiney XSRs next to the door - so I booked a test ride on the 900. Wow - it's an awesome bike, but I took it back in pain after an hour already and spent the next two days on crutches (I have some nasty back problems) - that seat is rock hard and the forward canted riding position is just not comfy at all, especially over Lincolnshires infamously bumpy back roads. Shame, because it's a wicked performer. The 700 seat wasn't much softer, so after remembering why I had gone to the dealer in the first place I booked my test on a Street Scrambler. I'd tested a Bonnie in 2014 and though I wasn't 100% satisfied at the time, I was impressed enough to keep an eye on the range.

I think the sales rep knew I liked the Street Scrambler when I was gone for over 3 hours and came back with a big grin on my chops. Plonked down the deposit on the spot and chose my reg. I then spotted a grogeous T120 Black Edition on a stand and started going weak at the knees, but no! Willpower! I tore myself back to the sales desk and chose my £500 free add-on bits for the Scrambler and didn't even notice the 35 mile ride home.

It's a shame they stopped doing the matt green tank - wasn't too keen on the green/silver job so I ordered the popular red one. Though I must admit, the more I look at the photos of my test bike, the more I think green/silver may have been okay. I've already got a shed full of add-on parts waiting for the bike - TEC suspension, luggage rack and fuel booster being the main ones, but I won't fit them until after the first service so I can see how much they change the bike.
So, that's enough of the waffle - I do tend to blabber a bit when I'm talking about bikes - especially when I don't currently have one!

    Cheers!

    Thanks again.

This is that Black edition Bonnie T120 ACE bike - pretty sure I would have bought this if I'd seen it before depositing on the Scrambler - phone photo so not that great: DSC_0030.JPG

Thanks. Sadness today - my bike won't be ready tomorrow after all. Don't know when it will be ready - sales rep was supposed to phone today but didn't. :(

Well whaddya know! Got a call this a.m. - bike was ready - just some of the extras hadn't arrived - so I went to collect her and will have the extras fitted during the first service. 3 weeks to put 500 miles on it - no problem at all, even for an old fart like me! :grinning:

Welcome to the forum. I also had my loins tickled by a Street Scrambler and ended up buying my first ever Triumph after decades on Jap crotch rockets. Great bike to ride, put 2000m on it since buying it in mid June. I wanted the Green/Silver one which worked out fine as it was the only colour they had in! Also got the Enduro kit of parts and a cracking deal on the whole thing. Enjoy!
