    Hi all,

I have a shortened rear mudguard which is being painted the same green as my petrol tank. On this I am planning on mounting a retro style brake light that looks like this: (see Tail Light.png)

I would like to keep this as clean as possible by fitting a side mount license plate holder. Does anyone have any recommendations about good brackets to buy?

Also I guess its worth thinking about the legal implications. Does it need to be lit up? Is it even legal to have it positioned on the side? I was thinking of mounting it by the bottom of the rear suspension. Does it need to be on the left or right hand side of the bike?

Any advice you could share would be greatly appreciated. Also, any clean looking rear mudguard mounting options would also be great, as I am not 100% convicted as yet where to put it.

I recently saw a picture on Bonnefication and in general I liked the minimalistic style of having the number plate on the side like this, probably however only show bike, not road legal....thoughts? (see Bonnefication.jpg)

    Thanks very much!
    Ben

It’ll certainly need lighting but as to location youd be better consulting an mot station and or checking mot regs online
