Hi all. Does it matter if the rectifier is horizontal (factory fit) or vertical? I'm looking to move it and thinking vertical tucks it out the way a little more. What do you think? Cheers

I would want to make sure it remains in a position where it gets plenty of air around it for cooling purposes, it is surprising just how hot this monstrosity gets!

Personally I think it looks nicer just moved back to the frame im pretty sure it wouldnt make much difference if its sideways mounted as long as it gets plenty of cooling as stated above heres a pic of what i did to mine just tidies up the front forks

I was wondering why my rectifier didn't bother me, the bikini fairing hides most of it and the remaining visible fins blend in with the gaiters. Sorted!
Not the clearest of pictures but you get the jist.

And if you have any heatsink paste or thermal grease coat the back where it mounts to the metalwork to help keep the temp down as its the heat that usually kills them.

It shouldn't make any difference so long as you maintain the airflow over it.
