Since I put my Triple back on the road I've felt the rear suspension is giving quite a hard ride. Now, this may be a consequence of riding the Multistrada, which is quite soft, especially in 'touring' mode. The Triumph is still carrying the original shock from 2008 and the bike's done nearly 17,000 miles. Since the front forks are about to be pulled out, seal fixed and oil replaced, now would seem like a good time to make sure the suspension is sound at both ends of the bike. Any useful advice or experience would be interesting to know. I've had a look at the Nitron and Ohlins shocks as a replacement but I don't want to spend around £500 without good reason.
How much do you weigh and do you take highly spirited rides? If the rear tire is bouncing on larger bumps spend the money.
You should maybe look at Shock factory. Much better quality that YSS, and made to your measurement at fair price. Just had one made for me, nothing to complain about. https://shock-factory.co.uk/
