    Hi Chaps,

My new Speed S is now at 400 odd miles - 1st service is next week.

I've noticed a hugely annoying rattle around 2500rpm at slow speeds. Sounds like it's coming from the top of the engine.

Any ideas? I will get them to investigate when its in next week but just wondered if anyone has had similar.

    Cheers

Hi Meldy and welcome in. Did you really mean to write that, 'cos you don't sound like you're enjoying it ?

Service advisor suggested I was in too high a gear for the speed... they road tested it and found no issues.

I know that's a characteristic of v-twins but didn't think same for triples. Perhaps just me that needs to get used to the bike and gear/speed matches are not the same as they were on my street.

    Welcome to the forum Meldy
Keep a keen ear on the noise, it may be that you are just getting used to the bike, but it could be that something isn't just right.
As biglad said, it is still in warranty so dont hesitate to take it in if you are unsure.
Try and listen to another new Speed S if you can for comparison, better still test ride one at another dealership.

I had an insane rattle..... was hard to place.....engine exhaust??? Then I located it to the glass in the mirrors. The revurb was seriously loud! Glue had come unstuck. Replaced under warranty.

Incredible to think it made more noise than the bike
