R/r Replacement

Hi All,

I recently purchased a Triumph daytona 675 2008 model.
Something that i noticed when starting the bike, the lights on the instrument cluster seem to flash while the ignition button is pressed.
My question is, could this be that the R/R needs to be replaced as i have read that this seems to be a common issue on the daytonas.
Is there a website that i can enter VIN details and check if this needs to be done or if it has been done already to bike. Or should i break out my multimeter and do the tests as per the numerous tests i have been reading about online.
First prize would be a site that i can just punch in VIN number and check if this needs to be done.
Or shopuld i just take my bike over to a dealership and ask themm to check VIN number.
