My bike is one of the first Hinckley carb Trophy 1200’s – J reg. Is my battery the same as the later face lift carb bikes – 1995 (I believe) onwards One has just arrived that I ordered. Different but similar size, poles reversed. Ordered for the later bike because it was cheap guessing that that the battery didn’t change. The ebay seller listed it as ‘Triumph Trophy 1200 (T300E) (1999-2003’ cheers
When I wanted a new battery for my Sprint from a motorbike shop they got the wrong one which I obviously had to return and wait for the correct one. Now I measure the battery height, width and depth and check the ah and cca rating. I also check the terminals are the right way round ( tho some, ie motobatt have terminals on both sides). Many of the ones on ebay are incorrect as I noticed when looking to order one for my Speed Triple. Just checked for your bike online and it appears yours is different to later bikes....if the images are correct of course.
Hi Dave Thanks for your prompt reply. I’ve had time tonight to do some research. It’s been my cock up. Triumph appear to have changed the battery size and swopped the terminals around from 1999 onwards…. Everyday a skool day.
