What a prat I am I put my bike cover on too soon after getting home in the rain. The exhausts were still hot and a patch of the inside cover melted onto the pipe. I warmed the pipes again and some of the crap wiped off, now just a bit left. Any ideas for a product to get the pipes back to how they should be ??????
I did this the other week by mistake, after a week or so of riding it's all mostly burnt off by itself. I'll try this Autosol for the rest of it.
I was working on my Bandit while warming up my America a few weeks ago. After a while I detected a burning smell that turned out to be my fleece on the America downpipe. Black burnt plastic all down the pipe. Once the pipe went cold it came off easily with a super sharp wood chisel.
Was in Halfrauds this morning so picked some Autosol up to clean the rest of the burnt crap off the pipe. Only gave it a quick blast and seemed to do the job.
They sell this stuff stateside called Goo Be Gone, lol. Works wonders when the wench you picked up at the bar melts her stripper shoes on your pipe.
Another tip that works on less-than-perfect chrome - rub over it with alu baking foil. I saw this tip on the web. I tried it for the first time today and blimey it works.
