Ok, we all know we are paying for others misfortunes(mistakes) it’s part of the insurance circus, but do you get pissed off when someone hits you and you end up paying half and your policy getting increased because of a no fault claim as well all other insurance increases? So let’s try and stop the insurance companies free rein by signing here
Signed. Funnily enough I'm currently (still after 1 hour and 16 mins!) in a WhatsApp chat with my car insurer about my renewal. They want a 39.7% increase over last year despite the fact that I've downgraded my car from a Group 21 to a Group 12. What a racket is motor insurance, car and bike!
Apparently there are an estimated 300,000 vehicles in the UK uninsured so what's being done about it....sweet f a......only an idea....(ANPR) cameras on motorways and main roads could help.....and these idiots on electric mountain bikes that I see overtaking cars at 40mph.....all of course not insured and don't get me started on these electric scooters that are illegal on roads and pavements !!! Just put on us law abiding bikers .....rant over for now....sorry
You're getting of lightly Jimbo. My X3 insurance renewal is due at the beginning of February. Last year's premium £493, This year the robbing b'stards want £880, that's an increase of very nearly 80%. So I thought I would go on their website (Churchill) and get a completely new quote, bearing in mind that Quotezone via TopCashback are currently asking £480 from which I will get £45 cash back. The new quote with all the usual extras, legal, personal injury, windscreen, and breakdown came to the eyewatering sum of £1,249. They need locking up and throwing the key away.
Many/most insurance companies are using third party claims companies, I'll name no names, but they milk the system for all it's worth pushing repair costs sky high. We end up paying for this.
Agreed. I had someone reverse into my side quarter of my Grande Coupe when I was stationary. I was persuaded by the BMW dealer to let one of these leaches handle it for me. The cost they were charging for a similar replacement vehicle was daylight robbery and if the claim were to fail I would have been liable for the cost of it. So what ever you do make sure you know what you could possibly be letting yourself in for. Of course they will also get you to take out an insurance policy to cover this event, the cost of which is added to the already extortionate cost.
