Hoping some1 can help , recently reset timing on my 2005 speed triple 1050 engine, timing was out when bought it so never heard it running before. Managed to get hold of a manual cam tensioner and reset timing correctly all marks line up. Bike will start but not idle , can rev engine but over fuels terribly Carried out compression test, all reading 230 psi, tried a few diffrent maps in ecu , nothing seems to make diffrence. Reset tps and idle valve still the same.im completly out of ideas ?? Any info be appreciated
I've not worked on that particular engine, but if it works like most other fuel-injected Triumphs it will have MAP sensors. These are connected to the inlet manifolds to gauge the amount of vacuum. If there is any leak it will cause the symptoms you describe. MAP stands for Manifold Absolute Pressure and is an essential part of the fuelling calculations the ECU makes. First examine the pipework for obvious damage, if none found spray the pipes with something like WD-40 and listen to the engine carefully for any changes - if there are any, you have leaks.
Iv tried map sensor already still no joy, there actually 2 on mine , 1 for atmospheric pressure and 1 for throtlle bodies, pipes all ok also. New spark plugs , also tried good another set of good coils .
Have you triple checked your timing is right and you're not 180' out? Could also be a stuck injector letting fuel by. This sounds like a pros tools may actually save wasted time and money.
