I had a dog once that did magic tricks, it was a Labracadabra.

    New mutt on the block.
Just been rescued from a family who were going to put her in a dog fight.
Let's just say they lived in a caravan.
She has a new home now :)

Lovely little dog Wayne, only slightly worrying question for me would be was she theirs to give away?
I hope so, but you know what I mean, without casting aspersions. ;)

I do voluntary work at Tia greyhound and lurcher rescue and some of the animals we get arriving makes you think what cruel horrible bastards some people can be

For the last 20+yrs we have been taking retired Greys straight from trainers, most are in reasonably good nick but not as good as a 'pet' animal, but considering they are an 'investment' its surprising how bad some of them are in when we get them, example, my best mate INCPOT who arrived like this last Feb.

Apart from the urin burns to his rump you will see a large lump on the inside of his right thigh, this is a torn grasilis muscle, the silly bastards still run him in trials like that and wondered why he went lame!

Congrats on turning him into a fine specimen. Heres my own two Colin the brown one was kicked out for not wanting to run and the brindle Judy went lame and got retired from racing at 2 1/2 years old.[IMG]

They are a lovely, beautiful pair, the lucky ones.
Incpot is lucky to be alive, nearly put down by the Irish breeders kennel as a no hoper, brought over here to race at Gretna (now closed!!!HEEEEHARRRRRR!) survived a kennel fire, survived being 'trained' by a complete prat to race at Armadale where he went lame (Now closed too, it only gets better!), then on to me.
Only 1 unregulated (flapping) track left in Scotland now and its future is in some doubt, and only a few in England too, the GBGB regulated tracks are not perfect but atleast there is some welfare.
I have 4 at home at present, had about 20 or so over the years.
BTW, HO stands for Horse Outside, a famous 'Don & Hove runner who we now have.
    Thats him in my Avatar

I'd quite like a grayhound or a whippet as our next dog.

Don't tell the current one :)

Greys do make good pets, this is our boy, a greyhound cross, taken in as a rescue almost 14 years ago, a bit old now but still characterful and likes his bed, still knows when it is feed and walk time though.

Hi all, new member here. Just been looking at all your photo's and couldn't resist posting this one.
George, my boxer who I very sadly lost almost a year ago. Used to come to work with me and generally just sat in the van and watched the world go by. This day it was very hot so I left the door open to let him please himself.
I had just started preparing the bed for some block replacement, so obviously the sand was damp, and cool. Next thing he is laid in it. He even stayed there while I blocked around him :)
