Oil Pump Chain Tt600

    New to triumphs,
    Just wandering if anybody nows if there is suppose to be quite alot of slack on the oil pump chain?

    Lol, only with old Triumphs and not sure about the genius bit either but thanks.

    Having studied the workshop manual, it would appear Triumph do not quote wear specs for this chain, must admit when I rebuilt my TT600 engine I thought it a bit sloppy, I would suggest close inspection for damaged links, nicks etc, if still in doubt replace it for peace of mind, I checked mine visually, no sign of damage or excessive wear, so refitted it during the rebuild, touchwood, I've had no problems. I am curious as to what has led you to this point.

    OK thankyou for your help,
    I have checked for damage etc. And all looks good it's just very loose, I am trying to find the source of a rattle and I replaced the clutch and clutch basket and the chain sits right behind the clutch basket, I just wiggled it out of curiosity and found it was very loose
