    Hello all.
New member here. Not a Triumph owner yet but probably will be soon. My career on two wheels goes back decades. My last sport touring bike was a MG Norge and I have been missing that type of bike ever since I traded it off. I have been watching the Trophy for a few years now. I think I am about to pull the trigger on a purchase. Hoping to learn a lot about them and maybe even meet a few folks. I am in north east Texas on a work assignment currently.

Welcome to the forum! I had a 2013 Trophy SE that I truly loved, except for a few things. The seat height and center of gravity were too high for me, due to my inseam (29") and age (64 at the time). I found the bike difficult to maneuver around in a parking lot while I was pushing it. I have a tender butt and I found the seat to be miserable. I added an AirHawk and could manage 8-9 hours riding before my butt said no more. The electronics aren't as sophisticated as some other bikes, but that didn't bother me. My final 'nit' about the Trophy was having to take so many parts of the bike or fairing on and off to do almost any maintenance. Today, that's true of most bikes, and it's no big deal if you don't do the work yourself.

On the positive side, I loved that engine and the driving modes. I had complete confidence in the bike running the 'ton' and working through twisties on varying road surfaces. Also, it had the best fairing I've ever ridden behind, and the heated grips and seat were a treat in winter. Good Luck with your purchase.

Thanks all for the welcome. To Hackdriver. I said the same thing about the Guzzi. Everything was covered by the fairings. But it had that European styling that just looked right from every angle. Just like the Trophy in my opinion.

I did a number of trips on that bike. Quite a bike but not for everyone. After I traded I really missed that type of bike. Doing the deal now to get a 2017 Trophy. I hope to pick it up in the next week or so. My urge for a sport tourer will be filled for awhile.. :)

Didn't even give that a thought. Being a US muscle and sports car type of guy, I completely forgot about the classic British cars. My apologies for the confusion. I see now there are as many if not more folks from Europe inhabiting this forum. Just learning the ropes on it so to speak. Funny how it is that a forum like this or so many others will bring so many people in for a conversation about a common interest.
Ride safe there Tigcraft. Never ridden in your part of the world but hope to one day.

For some reason, I had to approve your last post ??? So if you don't see it straight away, just hold fire and i'll approve them asap. Usually only first few, then you'll be fine.

Enjoy the bike when you get it, and get some pictures up, these lot love pictures. ;)

It's been a few years since i have been west on my bikes. Getting much closer to retirement and planning to make those trips. Not sure how but I would like to make it to Europe on a bike. Been there many times but always was in a taxi or hired car.
